THE MEDICINE SHOW sound like the hottest, wettest, most nasty swamp you’ve ever even heard tell about.
Snakes that’ll crawl right up your leg, and skeeters big enough to strip the living flesh from a grown man’s arm. A tar paper shack with a boiled ham hanging in a sack, in the shade of the willow tree.
Fear, aching, love and pain, running from the cops cos you just know they’s gonna put you in jail again.

It’s not about the individuals it’s about the music the individuals produce.
Harry’s the principal songwriter and arranger. One of the great front men.
“Sponge” Bob is the finest, most innovative of drummers, with more chops than the Tancred Meat Works.
Burning “Log” Dawkins is a bass fondler supreme.
Combine roots, swampy-blues, country and rock with a raw, gritty vocal melody and bluesy rhythm and you’ve got the distinctive sound of The Medicine Show [TMS]
The band’s unique style originated through a melting pot of musical influences such as Tom Waits,Nick Cave, John Lee Hooker, Lightning Hopkins and Bob Dylan and the screech a winch makes when rust has taken hold, sledgehammers on a rail, prison death songs, that feeling you get in your belly when you’ve drunk too much whiskey and eaten not enough food. TMS’s powerful and compelling live performances have become legend from one end of the country to the other.
These guys always perform as an act you’d expect to see down south in texas,in a small bar somewhere on route 66 with a couple of pool tables and some heavy drinkin’ clientele propping up the bar and eyeing everyone else in the room with a dangerous stare. Totally live and totally authentic – uniquely bluesy and perfect for bars.
“The Medicine Show peddle Australia’s most potent magic potion! – Peddling an elixir to transform even the stubbornest of bastards!”
- Odyssey Productions

“Their music has the space to bounce and shimmy around. Move yourself forward toward the stage. Have a lesson in soulful sounds.”
